Our story

We both remember the first time we touched a handpan. No sheet music, no technique, nothing required. You rest your hands on the steel and music begins. We wanted that quiet surprise to reach more hands, and Handpan Studio Tokyo grew out of that wish.

What we sell is a singing sculpture, shaped from two sheets of steel. Every instrument has a character of its own, so the way it reaches you matters just as much. Each one is tuned by hand and listened to, note by note, before it is packed and sent.

Not a luxury, but something necessary. A little space and stillness returned to a crowded day. We are here to help you find that first note.

A note from the founders

The first time we heard a handpan, we both thought the same thing.
This sound belongs somewhere deep in the Japanese sense of harmony.
In a country that treasures 調和, this instrument would feel at home.

We wanted that sound in as many days, and as many hands, as possible.
That is the only reason this brand exists.
